Implicita odds

Implicit odds are the ratio between your total expected profit if your move is successful, and the money that is required to join.
For example, sitting with a medium-high pair such as 7-7 is the short odds 8 to 1 for you to get three of a kind and perhaps the best hand. If opponents are not playing so tight, their implicit odds would be high and it may be worth joining before the flop even if the pot odds may be only 6 to 1. Because if you manage to get three of a kind perhaps the possible gain is 10 times your stake in a pot odds of 10 to 1.
